Trip 5: Lost River Valley

Lost River Valley is off lost river road a few miles off RT 93 in North Woodstock, NH.  This is the second time that we stayed at this campground with the first being back in August of 2019.

The campground has a few streams that cut through it and ample waterfront sites.  It also contains a pretty nice playground across the street.

Three miles up (and I mean up, like 900' up) the road is Beaver Pond / Beaver Brook trailhead.  This is where the AT cuts into the White's coming from Vermont.

On this trip we stayed two nights and had a decent size group.  It consisted of the four of us, Amy's sister's Laura and Meryl, Meryl's friend Kendall and her two kids, and her friend Catherine and her son, and the two dogs (ours, Ray, and Laura's, Watson).
We arrived Friday morning just after 10am and were confronted with rain shower after rain shower.  Between the van and a few pop of tents, were able to mostly stay out of the rain, but were limited in what we were able to do.

Saturday, we had much better weather and made it out for a hike (Upper and Lower Harvard Falls) and into Lincoln for some Mini Golf and Ice Cream.

Checkout was at 11 Sunday morning so after pancakes and two pounds of bacon cooked over the fire, we headed home.

Some other highlights of the trip included testing out our new Cab Bunk system and making use of our ceiling fan and air conditioning we installed in the van.  It was also great to camp with a bigger group after doing a number of trips just us.
